1) Henry Carter was born in 1820 in Cumberland County, North Carolina.
On October 10, 1845, he married Sarah Elizabeth Horne, born 1827, in Cumberland County, daughter of David Horne and Elizabeth McMillan. Henry died in 1879 in Cedar Creek township; Elizabeth died in 1882.

3) Benjamin Roberson Carter was born in 1850 in Cumberland County, North Carolina. In 1893, he married Henrietta Fowler, born in 1875 in Harnett County, daughter of Wiley Fowler and Sarah Smith, both of Harnett. Benjamin died in 1925 and Henrietta in 1964.

5) Daniel Washington Carter was born in Harnett County, North Carolina, December 2, 1908. He married Helen Holmes Johnson, born in Nash County, North Carolina, September 14, 1916. They married December 2, 1942, in Rocky Mount, Nash County, North Carolina. Daniel died December 17, 195l, at Duke Hospital, Durham, North Carolina. Helen remarried in 1956 to Harvie Johnson and lived in Sampson County. She died March 16, 2004, in Wilmington, New Hanover County, North Carolina. Daniel and Helen had three children, all of whom are living, two in North Carolina and one in Virginia: one son and two daughters.
