Elizabeth "Lizzie" Mae Gingerich was born 16 November, 1886 in Highspire, Dauphin County, PA, US, the daughter of Jacob and Sarah Elizabeth Bower Gingerich. Lizzie married Clyde Lewallen Humer, son of William and Margaret Thrush Humer on March 24 1906 in Dauphin County, PA, US. She raised her granddaughters, Patsy & Helen after their mother left the home and they were very close. My mother, Patsy, never let me sew or knit on Sunday because Lizzie taught her to respect the Sabbath. She told Patsy that she would have to pick out all the stitches she sewed on a Sunday with her nose!
